Staying Positive

Things that have gone right lately. My attempt to be a more optimistic person.

I will post every day, at the end of the day (or the next morning), about the good things that have happened to me in that day. The hope is that I will begin to be generally happier and more positive, rather than focusing on the negative as I tend to do.

If you would like to join me, e-mail me or leave a comment on one of my posts and we can talk about adding you as a poster here. I think that it would be really cool if this were to become a multi-person endeavor, if others are interested in helping to make it one.

December 30, 2006

Music: radio, Darren Hayes The Tension and the Spark
Reading: Dickens David Copperfield, newspaper, ??? Symmetry (excerpts), intro to Nietzsche On the Genealogy of Morals
Current stress level (scale of 1-10): 2

Good things that happened today:
1. Went to a Danish bakery with Mom. Not only did we get yummy pastry, but after we finished buying stuff the guy behind the counter just randomly put some MORE stuff in a bag for us to take home free!
2. Yearly party given by one of my parents' friends. There was a piano concert, at which I got some knitting done, and then food, and then we all gathered around the piano again to sing -- carols for a while, and then parts of Handel's Messiah (this is a yearly tradition).
3. Knitted while watching good football.
4. An old acquaintance from high school just IMed me!
