Staying Positive

Things that have gone right lately. My attempt to be a more optimistic person.

I will post every day, at the end of the day (or the next morning), about the good things that have happened to me in that day. The hope is that I will begin to be generally happier and more positive, rather than focusing on the negative as I tend to do.

If you would like to join me, e-mail me or leave a comment on one of my posts and we can talk about adding you as a poster here. I think that it would be really cool if this were to become a multi-person endeavor, if others are interested in helping to make it one.

February 13, 2007

Music: Savage Garden "I Knew I Loved You" (live version), Goo Goo Dolls Gutterflower
Reading: Dryden "An Essay of Dramatic Poesy"
Current stress level (scale of 1-10): 6

Good things that happened today:
1. Lunch with Jason.
2. MOMMY SENT ME SHINY EARRINGS! shiiiiiiiiny...
3. Practice was not as horrendous as it could have been, given that it was our first morning practice in a week and a half.
4. A talk that I had to have with a troublesome coach was similarly not as horrendous as it could have been (though I kind of think he brushed me off a bit and failed to take the responsibility he should've... but whatever, he's like that, and hey, in two months I will never have to deal with him again).
5. My DivaCup apparently does work! (...it just is really uncomfortable and pokes my squishy bits in bad ways.)
6. FANTASTIC dinner at the co-op of one of my fellow fencers (she was head cook tonight, so invited the team over). NOT DORM FOOD, YAAAY! And she made lemony custard with strawberries on top! (It was supposed to be creme brulee... it's just that the first one they bruleed kind of burnt. ;) )

Other things to be happy about:
1. Puppy count: ONE! And it was a happy excited puppy playing fetch and then when its owner got tired of throwing the ball and started walking again it was all jumping around her like, "Play with me! PLAAAAAAY WIIIIITH MEEEEEE! I am so cute you just have to play with me! ...okay, then, we'll walk instead! WALKEE! Walk walk walk, yay!"
