Staying Positive

Things that have gone right lately. My attempt to be a more optimistic person.

I will post every day, at the end of the day (or the next morning), about the good things that have happened to me in that day. The hope is that I will begin to be generally happier and more positive, rather than focusing on the negative as I tend to do.

If you would like to join me, e-mail me or leave a comment on one of my posts and we can talk about adding you as a poster here. I think that it would be really cool if this were to become a multi-person endeavor, if others are interested in helping to make it one.

November 9, 2006

Music: Goo Goo Dolls dizzy up the girl
Reading: Cather O Pioneers!, Dickens Our Mutual Friend
Current stress level (scale of 1-10): 6
Quote: "There does exist one intellectually respectable means of cutting through the realities of religious difference. It is to maintain a healthy measure of humility with respect to one's own religious certitude or omniscience. Indeed, such humility may be the only means of maintaining a consistent self-respecting and other-respecting pluralism in religious matters. But many people cannot achieve that level of humility." – John W. Gardner

Good things that happened today:
1. Quite interesting class today (got into the purpose of the university and education and all that).
2. Lunch with Jason.
3. My coach was gone, so I didn't have a lesson. Normally this would be bad, but I'm still sick enough that I appreciated the break and the chance to get work done.
4. REALLY finished my first armwarmer (wove in the ends)!!!
5. Practice went fairly well.

Other things to be happy about:
