Staying Positive

Things that have gone right lately. My attempt to be a more optimistic person.

I will post every day, at the end of the day (or the next morning), about the good things that have happened to me in that day. The hope is that I will begin to be generally happier and more positive, rather than focusing on the negative as I tend to do.

If you would like to join me, e-mail me or leave a comment on one of my posts and we can talk about adding you as a poster here. I think that it would be really cool if this were to become a multi-person endeavor, if others are interested in helping to make it one.

Current stress level (scale of 1-10): 2

Good things that happened today:
1. Hear ye, hear ye, the saga of the quiche! There once was a girl, and she was planning to make a quiche for dinner! It was going to be yummy, and she was excited! She put everything all together, and then she put the pie crust on a baking sheet as instructed, only to discover that THE BAKING SHEET DID NOT FIT IN HER HOMELY OVEN!!! OH NOES!!! She closed the oven door as much as she could, however, and went to do something else while it baked. Only ten minutes later she was interrupted by a horrible shrill beeping! SHE HAD SET THE SMOKE ALARM OFF!!! OH NOES!!! She was very upset and embarrassed because she knew she could cook well. And the alarm kept stopping and then starting up again. It was not good. She transferred the quiche to a glass lasagna pan that did fit in the oven, put it in again, and hoped for the best. When the time was up she went to check on it... only to see that THE TOP WAS ALL BURNT!!! OH NOOOOOES!!!!! She was very angry and frustrated and felt like she was going to cry. But she had to eat the quiche, for she had nothing else ready for dinner. So she cut a piece and sat down to eat it... and she found that the burnt part was just a crust on top, and the part underneath was DELICIOUS!!! YAAAAAAAY!
2. Played with the electric typewriter at work.
3. Had my first cup of tea in my new apartment.
4. Wrote a bit! :)
5. Set up my printer! It was shockingly quick and easy.

Never lose hope and never give up. No matter how dark today may seem, tomorrow may be the best day you ever had. You are not alone, no matter how tempting it may be to feel that way. You have touched people and added meaning to their lives whether you know it or not.

You made me smile.

Thank you so much for that touching comment. :) It's good to know that this blog means something to someone other than just myself.

I'm glad that I made you smile.
